Rio Safari Beach Tour
Within one hour from your hotel, find Rio’s secluded wild fishing village of Barra de Guaratiba. From a small boat you will see the nature of the last preserved mud-flats of Rio de Janeiro.
After enjoying the natural surroundings and a fresh fish lunch (optional) you will relax on one of the last secluded beaches of Rio or you can also visit the biggest private collection of popular art in Brazil (optional).
Petrópolis
In this beautiful European-like-city, you make a voyage to the Imperial times of Brazil. Here you visit Brazil’s richest imperial museum and see the house of Santos Dumont (the father of Aviation), the gothic Cathedral and the Crystal Palace (lunch included). (7h)
Paraty
Its preserved colonial buildings remind us of the gold era in Brazil. From here gold was shipped to Europe. Not only history and colonial charms mark Paraty but also the beauties of nature the tropical Islands and Atlantic Forest.
Tour Suggestion: First day
Ride to Paraty and enjoy the wonderful view of the coast. After lunch, a guided walking tour will take you past churches, old houses and preserved 18th century monuments. Second day
Boat trip in the Bay of Paraty with its warm and crystalline waters, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Stops at beaches and Islands (lunch on the boat).
Third day
Visit a Quilombo or experience the history of the gold rush period in Brazil walking along the Royal Street to an old colonial Farm and have a typical brazilian lunch. What means?...
Quilombos and Quilombolas
A Quilombo is a place of freedom. It’s population shares ethnicity, cultural identity and common ancestry. The Quilombo, near Paraty, received its own land from the Brazilian Government. Escaped slaves founded these villages throughout Brazil. You will see how they maintained their traditions up to the present day.
Royal Street
The Royal Street was one of the streets that were built in the 17th and 18th century to connect the deposits of gold and diamonds in Minas Gerais with the ports of Rio de Janeiro.
Coffee Farms In the early XIX century, the Paraiba Valley was just becoming a centerpiece of what has come to be known in Brazilian history as the “coffee cycle”. Visiting a historical coffee plantation you will hear about powerful barons, strong slaves and demanding ladies in their beautiful homes. Helplessly the descendents of the baron’s watched their world come to an end with the prohibition of the international slave trade. In 1888 slavery was abolished, it was the final end of the power of the barons in the Paraiba Valley.
The tour includes the visit of two historical Coffee Farms and Lunch. On the first we will watch a cultural event (for minimum fifteen people) have a guided tour and lunch. The visit to the second one includes a guided tour and a coffee break. (7h)
Ilha Grande Ilha Grande is a beautiful and large island, and is almost entirely an ecological reserve, replete with rainforest it has also some of the most beautiful beaches of Brazil , more than half of them deserted! The main and charming village is Villa Abraão, who nests in a small bay with a sandy beaches and cute pousadas and exellent restaurants. The tropical forest is excelent for trekking that often end with beautiful bays or coves. Who likes fishing or diving can get equipment (3 days & 2 nights).
Búzios Spend two some days in Búzios, located in a peninsula with seventeen gorgeous beaches. As Brigitte Bardot and her brazilian boyfriend came firstly in that place it was still a small fishermen village. Armação de Buzios is now a small but an international city with stroll around streets full of trendy shops, nice restaurants and beautiful pousadas and people. It is also known under the name the St. Tropez of Brazil.
